Project: Visegrad Experts at Resilience Forums in the South Caucasus

Project duration: April- May 2017

"Visegrad Experts at Resilience Forums in the South Caucasus" Project is implemented by OxYGen Foundation with the support of Visegrad Fund and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Project.

The Project will fill the expertise gap in areas of innovative early warning approaches to meteorological and hydrological hazards, science-based mitigation and adaptation response policy making, climate change and water management, earthquake engineering and technical/ scientific forecasting and warning work. It will introduce best concept and practices from V4 countries at 3rd Resilience Forum in Tavush/ Armenia/ and Adjara/Georgia/, will ensure knowledge transfer, support and capacity building of local government and civil society.

Tavush Resilience Forum: 3rd meeting 

Oxfam and OxYGen Foundation jointly with Tavush Marz government have initiated Tavush Resilience Forum. Tavush Resilience Forum 3rd meeting is held in the frame of "Visegrad Experts at Resilience Forums in the South Caucasus" Project funded by Visegrad Fund and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of  the Kingdom of the Netherlands Project and "Supporting Community Resilience in the South Caucasus" program, which is funded by European Commission under DG European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Program (DG ECHO).

Participants of the Forum were representatives from different sectors: public and private, government and civil society, educational institutions, media. Thanks to the support from the Visegrad Fund the Forum hosted special guest from Hungary, Slovakia, Czechia and Poland who shared their knowledge and expertise and discussed a potential of collaboration and replication in Tavush marz.

On May 30th, in Batumi Oxfam together with its implementing partner organizations: Bridge Innovation and Development (BRIDGE) and Black Sea Eco- Academy (BSEA) host the 3rd Resilience Forum. The forum is organized within the framework of DG European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Funded “Supporting Community Resilience in the South Caucasus” program and with a support from "Visegrad Experts at Resilience Forums in the South Caucasus" Project funded by Visegrad Fund and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of  the Kingdom of the Netherlands Project.

 On June 1st in the frame of “Visegrad Experts at Resilience Forums in the South Caucasus” a learning session  was launched in Dilijan, Armenia, which brought together representatives of Tavush marz representatives,  community members and Vishegrad experts from Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
