Women and Innovation
“Women and Innovation” special project is implemented by "OxYGen" Youth and Women’s Rights Foundation in collaboration with WomenNet.am with the financial support of Oxfam. Participants of this project are all women who have innovative ideas to advance in any field, be it economic, business, politics, agriculture, science, or social life, information technology or arts.
We have published a special issue of the Newspaper “Woman &Politics” on topic ““Woman and Innovation” in Armenian and English. This Issue tells the public about theinnovative women who have new ideas to advance in any field, be it economic, business, politics, agriculture, science, or social life, information technology or arts.
After trying to run business in various sectors a musician-teacher Irina Israelian in 2009 decided to build the first hotel in Alaverdi. The money 300,000 received from grant Mrs. Irina used to adapt the conditions of their guest house in Alaverdi highway – renovated bathroom, installing the appropriate equipment.
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan attended the 6th Best Woman Entrepreneur award ceremony, held under the high auspices of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. The event is organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment with support of the National Center for SME Development Foundation.
Two years ago, in April of 2015, “Meline garden” company began its activities in Armenia , its founder Talin Kevonyan introduced previously unknown species of grain, sagakhot (quinoa) and sage (chia). Young professional Talin Kevonyane arrived to Armenia from the US with a special mission to be useful.
