Brief description<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project aims to strengthen the participation and influence of women, youth, and local civil society actors in gender-responsive environmental and climate-related governance in the Tavush, Shirak, and Gegharkunik regions of Armenia. By generating evidence on gendered climate vulnerabilities, building local capacities, supporting women- and youth-led community initiatives, and facilitating dialogue with decision-makers, the initiative bridges the gap between national climate and gender policies and local implementation. The project creates opportunities for underrepresented groups to shape environmental decisions that directly affect their livelihoods and communities.<\/p>\n

Project Goal<\/strong><\/p>\n

To strengthen the participation and influence of women, youth, and local civil society actors in shaping more inclusive, responsive, and sustainable environmental and climate-related actions in Armenia.<\/p>\n

Main Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To increase knowledge, capacities, and access to participatory opportunities for women, youth, and local civil society actors in gender-responsive climate and environmental governance.<\/li>\n
  2. To strengthen women- and youth-led local initiatives and multi-stakeholder advocacy for more inclusive local climate and environmental action.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Main Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Conduct a research on <\/strong>gender and climate adaptation<\/strong>to generate evidence on local vulnerabilities.<\/li>\n
    • Organise a\u00a0Training of Trainers <\/strong>for 25 participants on gender-responsive climate action, biodiversity, and advocacy.<\/li>\n
    • Support trained participants to conduct\u00a06 follow-up awareness activities<\/strong>in their communities.<\/li>\n
    • Hold\u00a09 regional capacity-building workshops<\/strong>for women, youth, and CSOs on climate adaptation, governance, and advocacy.<\/li>\n
    • Launch a\u00a0social media campaign<\/strong>to raise public awareness on gender and climate issues.<\/li>\n
    • Fund and mentor\u00a03 women- and youth-led community environmental initiatives<\/strong>, focusing on areas near national parks.<\/li>\n
    • Organise a\u00a0national event<\/strong>to highlight women role models and their leadership.<\/li>\n
    • Host a\u00a0COP17-linked side event or policy discussion<\/strong>to bring grassroots community perspectives into national and international biodiversity dialogues.<\/li>\n
    • Convene a\u00a0multi-stakeholder platform meeting<\/strong>with state institutions and CSOs to advocate for policy recommendations from the project.<\/li>\n
    • Produce and disseminate a final\u00a0package of recommendations and lessons.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
