To do so EQUAL provides women duly support to exercise their political, economic and socio-cultural rights, targeting specifically those from vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Overall objective<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">State and non-state actors take meaningful actions to address and prevent all forms of gender-based violence and discrimination and contribute to gender equality in Armenia for women, men, girls, and boys in all their diversity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Main components<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Activity Cluster 1\u0589<\/span><b> Freedom from Gender-based violence<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Activity Cluster 2\u0589<\/span><b> Economic empowerment and social rights<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Activity Cluster 3\u0589<\/span><b> Leadership, participation and dialogue<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Expected results<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>35 civil society organisations (CSO)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including women\u2019s rights organisations, empower girls and women through capacity development, networking, innovative programming, and policy work.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>725 women and girls<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (10% of them women with disabilities, 15% of them young girls) benefitting to counter sexual and gender-based violence due to the action.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>750 women and girls <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">confronting gender-based violence (GBV) are provided with essential services, including hotline services, social services\/counselling, therapy, and legal aid in 5 project target regions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>60 women and girls <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">domestic violence (DV) survivors receive transitional housing and shelter support in 5 project target regions.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Capacity building on business and entrepreneurship for <\/span><b>225 women and girls<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at risk of GBV and DV.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>30 seed funds<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for supporting innovative ventures for promoting women\u2019s entrepreneurship and for women\u2019s access to the job market.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>EQUAL nonformal network<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of CSOs and Collations working for GE in Armenia established.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>25 media representatives and women leaders <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are capacitated on monitoring and identifying hate speech &#8211; using the latest trends and techniques in social media monitoring by the project.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>12 sub-grants <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are provided to CSOs on intersectional issues of gender equality.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Policies, laws, and regulations suggested\/adopted<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to counter sexual and gender-based violence and promote gender equality.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Duration: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">07.12.2022 &#8211;<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">07.12.2025<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Total project budget: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1,111,111 EUR<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>EU contribution: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1,000,000 EUR<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Location: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Armenia\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Implementing Partners: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OxYGen Foundation, European Partnership for Democracy NGO, Netherlands Helsinki Committee NGO, Women\u2019s Support Center NGO, WINNET Goris Development Foundation in cooperation with Winnet Sweden NGO. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EQUAL \u2013 EU 4 Women Empowerment in Armenia aims to elevate and empower women in Armenia to bring about societal change across the country.
