
On March 9-10, OxYGen Foundation participated in the two-day event “WPS in Armenia: From Policy to Practice,” organized by the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) within the framework of the “Building Resilience in the Eastern Neighbourhood II” project.
Women’s Voice as a Guarantee of Security
During the panel discussion, Margarita Hakobyan, Executive Director of OxYGen Foundation, reflecting on the current geopolitical events, noted that women’s leadership in the security sector has become an imperative of the day.
“Current global and regional developments are forcing us to rethink our approaches. Women’s involvement in peace and security is an urgent imperative. Where the voices of women are absent, the world faces irreversible threats. Women must stand up against militarization,” emphasized Margarit Hakobyan.
Strength in Action: Practical Steps and Results
The second day of the event focused on the implementation of practical programs. Narine Asatryan, Training and Network Coordinator at OxYGen Foundation, provided a detailed overview of the project “Strength in Action: Advancing Women’s Participation in Peace and Security in Armenia 3.0””
The presentation highlighted ongoing activities and key milestones achieved, all aimed at empowering women and realizing their potential as active agents in the establishment of regional peace and stability.
