On February 5-6, we conducted another capacity-building training for members of the Interministerial Commission to effectively implement, monitor, and evaluate Armenia’s third National Action Plan (NAP) on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) (2025–2027). The training was aimed at developing the institutional capacities of state institutions that are members of the commission
At the opening of the training, Commission members outlined their expectations and reflected on the previous meeting, highlighting outcomes they found particularly valuable.
Under the guidance of Ani Kojoyan, a specialist in women’s rights and gender studies, participants were introduced to programme development theories and frameworks for defining monitoring indicators. These sessions were followed by discussions that generated insightful observations.
A key component of the training focused on gender-sensitive indicators. After familiarising themselves with these tools, participants engaged in group work to reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical application.
Following discussions on monitoring tasks, participants carried out simulation monitoring exercises under the trainer’s guidance, which led to diverse and constructive exchanges.
On the second day, Ani Kojoyan presented the monitoring report format. This was followed by group work and presentations, allowing participants to practically consolidate their newly acquired knowledge and skills. The day concluded with a session on the foundations of strategic planning for monitoring and outlining next steps.
This two-day training was a component part of the “Strength in Action: Advancing Women’s Participation in Peace and Security in Armenia 3.0” program. It aims to reinforce Armenia’s commitment to the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda through the effective implementation of the third National Action Plan (2025–2027).
The Project is implemented by OxYGen Foundation within ‘’Building Resilience in Eastern Neighbourhood II’’ project implemented by Institute of War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) with the support of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
