Building Bridges։ Enhancing Social Cohesion in Kotayk Region

The project aims to foster social cohesion and inclusivity between host communities (5 consolidated communities in Kotayk region: Abovyan, Nairi, Tsaghkadzor, Hrazdan and Charentsavan) and displaced populations from Nagorno-Karabakh, enhancing their overall quality of life and enabling positive contributions to their new environments.

This project will focus on creating structured, recurring opportunities for these communities to engage in joint activities and dialogues. By working together on community-driven projects and participating in exchanges, participants will build mutual understanding and respect, reducing social tensions and promoting long-term integration.

Objectives:

  • To foster inclusive safe spaces for experience sharing and dialogue among displaced and local community members and support community groups to implement joint community initiatives.
  • To enhance the capacity of CSOs to mainstream social cohesion in their projects.
  • To promote awareness and resilience to misinformation and hate speech through community-driven campaigns bridging differences through hope-based communication.

Main components/activities:

  1. Safe and inclusive community spaces for ongoing dialogue and interaction.
  2. A platform for regular inter-community dialogue, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.
  3. Capacity building of community members to engage in community mobilization and project development.
  4. Community-driven initiatives to address local needs and enhance social cohesion.
  5. Social cohesion practices by CSO representatives.
  6. Development and dissemination of social media content to raise awareness on misinformation and hate speech.
  7. Engagement of influencers and bloggers from hosting and displaced population in awareness-raising campaigns.
