
“Increasing Women’s Political Participation in Armenia” project is implemented by the OxYGen Foundation as part of the KATARINE Candidate Academy 2025, implemented by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and funded by UK International Development of the Government of the United Kingdom.
The project aims to promote women’s political participation, enhance the visibility of potential women candidates, expand networking and collaboration, and strengthen skills development in advance of the 2026 parliamentary and local elections.
As part of the KATARINE Candidate Academy 2025, OxYGen Foundation is responsible for designing and delivering community-level dialogue events and capacity building activities for 30 selected women candidates. These activities aim to enhance candidates’ resilience, strengthen their media engagement skills, and reinforce their connections with civil society organizations and local communities.
Key Activities
- Safety and Security Workshop
Deliver one targeted workshop for 30 women candidates focused on identifying, preventing, and responding to discrimination, online harassment, hate speech, and gender-based attacks, while strengthening communication skills, digital security awareness, and crisis preparedness. - Media Dialogue Meeting
Organize a media dialogue meeting for women candidates aimed at strengthening their capacities for effective and informed engagement with the media, taking into account ethical standards of coverage as well as the specific characteristics and existing challenges of the Armenian media environment. - Community-Level Dialogue Meetings
Organize three community-level dialogue events in selected regions, bringing together women candidates, representatives of civil society organizations, community members, and KATARINE alumni to identify local priorities and support candidates in translating them into clear campaign messages and policy commitments. - National Conference on Women’s Political Participation
Co-organize one national-level conference in partnership with NDI, convening program participants, political parties, media representatives, civil society organizations, KATARINE alumni, and other key stakeholders to discuss challenges to women’s political participation.
