Our project beneficiary fruits and berries processing plant in Sevqar community of Tavush marz successfully passed ISO 22000 certification audit.

During last year ISO 22000 food safety management system was implemented in the Sevqar fruits and berries processing plant (100% owned by our beneficiary “Darpas” agricultural cooperative). During that time all the staff of the processing plant received different capacity development trainings. The building of the processing plant was renovated in accordance with the food safety requirements, all the required prerequisite programs, procedures, and HACCP system were properly implemented.

On October 5, 2017 expert of the TUV InterCert SAAR visited Sevqar processing plant for ISO22000 certification audit. Ultimately, the processing plant successfully passed the audit. Currently, the certificate issuing process is in the progress.

At present, 12 villagers from the Sevqar community are working in the processing plant producing fig, peach, pumpkin and quince jams and preserves.

Sevqar fruits and berries processing plant is one of the beneficiary agri-business infrastructures established in the frame of “Improving Smallholder Farming through Agricultural Cooperatives and Value Chain Development in Tavush Marz, Armenia, Phase 2” Project financed by the Austrian Development Agency and implemented by OxYGen Foundation.
